Sturbridge, Massachusetts, January 29, 2013 – Optim LLC was granted $153,500 from the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund to implement Continuous Improvement philosophies through Lean Manufacturing processes. The funds support training over a two year period in an ongoing effort to improve products, services, or processes.
Through lean and quality activities, Optim will strive for perfection by continually removing successive layers of waste, providing reduced lead times and costs, improved efficiency, productivity and quality. A complete transformation from mass/batch production to Lean Manufacturing takes time and provides the opportunity for profitable manufacturing growth. 47 employees are involved in the training and Optim is expected to add up to 20 additional employees as a result of the training and its contribution to the growth of the company.
